Tate Dean
On March 9, 2022 a young member of our DeAnza Force Club, Tate Dean, of the 2012 Boys group, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and has been in treatment at Stanford’s Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital ever since. While Tate’s soccer days may be behind him, his two older sisters, Skye (2009 ECNL) and Cecilia (2011 Pre-ECNL) are still working hard on the field. Tate’s family is participating in a fund raiser for St. Baldrick’s, the biggest funder of childhood cancer research grants behind the United States government. Since becoming a foundation, St. Baldrick’s has funded more than $200 million in grants to intrepid researchers searching tirelessly for better treatments and cures.
